2017 Jana Winery Rosé of Grenache, Amador County
Produced from two small vineyards in the Shenandoah Valley of Amador County. Small yields of flavorful grapes where harvested early to produce a light, low alcohol European style dry Rose of Grenache. Making this wine gives me a chance to produce a true European type Rosé in a light, crisp and dry style, like the wines we produced while I was working as an apprentice and going to winemaking school in Germany. This wine is made in the German “Halbtrocken Kabinett” style.
Good balance with a fresh crisp finish. Delicate aromas and flavors of rose petals, strawberry, watermelon, fresh rain and wildflowers are all great descriptors for this dry European Style Grenache Rosé.
