2013 Scott Harvey J&S Reserve Syrah, Amador County
Grown in the mountainous Chapman Syrah Vineyard of Shenandoah Valley, Amador County. This vineyard is planted on a steep, rocky, decomposed granite, west facing slope. Extremely low yields from these highly stressed mountain vineyards produce first growth quality fruit. The harvest of 2013 produced a small crop of exceptional flavor.
Produced in a rich, dark, fruit froward style. Aged in French oak cooperage to develop a well-rounded wine with firm and structured tannins. Aromas of blackberry, pepper, clove, blueberry and sweet light oak introduce fresh, bright and spicy flavors of the same, laced with firm tannins that carry through the long finish. Enjoy now through 2025.
